There is such unrivaled pleasure in reading. Whenever I get my hands on a new book, there’s a magical sense that something might change for me: waiting in the crisp black and white pages is something empowering or mesmerizing.
I’ve never been in a book club, but I often wish I could make room or time for it, because there is something so devastating in stumbling across the perfectly written paragraph, a clever twist, a fascinating fact, a ridiculous argument, etc., and having no one to gasp at it with. Instead, I make notes in my margins, reread favorite paragraphs, and beg my friends to add the book to their reading list. I enjoy this, but it’s no comparison.
This is why I and other willing readers have decided to share what we’re reading now here. If you’ve read a book discussed in one of our articles, let us know your thoughts in the comments: Like it? Hate it? Recommend it for certain readers? If you haven’t read any of the selections discussed, maybe you’ll get some inspiration to overcome the dilemma of deciding what to read next.
